Halloween!!!

The kids had fun being pirates this year. V was a pirate princess. She is getting good at the posing!

The weather was AMAZING nice and warm and beautifully clear! We met up with our friends at the end of trick or treating for a little party. I asked the kids if they wanted to trick or treat more or if they wanted to go to this friend house. There was no hesitation...friends house! I think this year they got the least amount of candy ever. Makes for a happy Mama! 

At the party the kids, and Daddy, got to bob for apples. The two kids with bigger front teeth were able to grab the apples rather quickly, the others struggled. P didn't even try, he just grabbed one! :)

They then got to eat a doughnut off a string. It was a lot of fun watching them! A couple kids took the sting with the doughnut! I think they liked this one the best...

Creative Spelling

We found some fun an creative ideas for practicing spelling. V is doing spelling hopscotch. I think it was pretty fun. She is learning her words really well!

The first snow of the season!

Considering how excited they were to go play in the snow, you would think we got 6 inches. No, it was officially .11 of an inches. They still made the best of it. Silly kids!

Special Visit

Grandma & Grandpa came for 2 visits in 2 weeks. They were headed to California and we were lucky to be  in their path on the way out and the way back. I only got pictures of V and Great Grandma this time though. The kids sure gave her some good snuggles!

Trunk or Treat!!!

The kids had fun at the church trunk or treat. It was a beautiful night! 

Babysitting!

We were lucky to  be able to baby sit our really good friends kids today so they could have a date for their anniversary. They have lived in Kearney for only a few months, but all four of us feel like we have been friends forever. It is so nice to have such great friends.

We took the kids to the Children's Art Festival at the Harmon Center. It was so fun! They had about 6 stations for the kids to explore different types of art. It made it even better that it was in one large room, so it wasn't difficult counting 6 kids...often! :) Then we went to the park after. It was such a beautiful day, 75 degrees. Perfect for being outside for a couple of hours.

Fall Leaves

We had a fun family home evening raking and playing in the leaves. We also did service and raked up our neighbors leaves. We had a lot of fun. It was a beautiful 70 degree day. 

P is going through a faze where he won't look at the camera when I want him too. He is such a pill!At least he is still cute!

Library story time

We happened to go to the library early on Friday and the fire department showed up with Smokey the Bear for story time. We decided to hang around. It was a lot of fun. V was all about hugging Smokey and trying things on. P wouldn't do anything except talk the fireman's ear off. It was a fun surprise!

Doctors, farmers and invalids...

Our weekly trip to the children's museum. They sure liked being doctors, invalids and farmers this week. 

October School Day...

School at the beginning of October. It was so chilly last night we had all the windows closed this morning. But, the didn't stop us from going on a nature walk today. 

We thought this was funny. V was working on her addition wrap-ups. They are green and the as the sun shone on them they reflected green on her face. 

Of course P had to get pictures too. He is such a cute little man! I did turn these pictures, but for some reason they still loaded sideways. 

We created some fun art with the stuff we collected on our nature walk. I think P had more fun with the glue than anything else. 

V really knows how to create. She made some neat pictures.
