Merry Christmas!
I thought I would send a Merry Christmas to everyone. I didn't have a lot of money for postage this year. I thought I would post our Christmas card for all of you who won't get one in the mail. I decided to try my hand at making my own this year. I think they turned out pretty cute.

Utah Trip!
Well, we are back. Unfortunately I do not have picture of all that happened in Utah. I was at my brother's house for dinner last Monday and my little 3 year old niece and my 3 year old V got in to my older nieces makeup. They smeared it in their hair. It was that fun petroleum based stuff that is almost impossible to clean up. Well, they got a bath and I bent over to drain the water out of the tub and my camera slipped out of my pocket into the water. Believe me, I was so happy it happened at my techy brother's house. Otherwise I think I would be out of a camera. He pulled it apart and we let it dry for a few days. It works again! Of course that was an entire week of my trip without a camera. That is okay, I am glad I am not out a camera. Especially since I love my camera my dad gave me.

Well, so much for having a little girl that is afraid of dogs. Small ones seem to be okay now. She loved carrying around my sisters little dog. So cute!
On Thanksgiving day my little sister invited us up to her house for Thanksgiving leftovers (she did hers the day before). The kids wanted to go to the park. V loved her cousin L. They were buds the whole day and she threw a fit when it was time to leave!
This is my little dare devil kid. I will add a video of her below.

We sure loved the warm weather while we were out there. It was 17 degrees when we landed in Omaha. Oh, how I miss the Utah weather. I don't miss the pollution though. :) We had a lot of fun walking with Papa by the lake and in the mountains. V loved the mountains. Every time we would leave the house she would say "Mommy, there's the mountains! They are so pretty!" A girl after my own heart.
Isn't this the best picture! I love catching those sweet moments between her and Papa!

It was warm enough that we even found a weed flower growing by the side of the path. She was excited about that!

I think her favorite thing to do in the mountains is throw rocks in the water. She would have stayed there forever had we let her. She is a funny little girl!

Well, as much as we enjoyed out trip it is nice to be home. V was most excited about seeing her daddy. She has never quite missed him this much. It was a sweet reunion!

Update on the month of October
Here are pictures of all the things we were to do this week. This was after Great-grandma's surgery. The first time she was able to come home. V gave out some great snuggle time, that is rare these days! :)

V has so much fun hiding in this spot at our friends house.

V had a blast playing in the pumpkins at Village Pointe.

Daddy's company party was a blast, especially when E showed up. They had fun bouncing together. V loved the obstacle course so much she went on it over 25 time all by herself that night. She was a lot like the Energizer Bunny. She wore me out just watching. She was fast!

After church V was in her room for quiet time and she came out saying her feet were cold. She was already wearing heavy tights. She was so cute with the black socks on top. She let us know that they were black and matched! So silly!

We went to the children's museum with the E & H. It was fun, but awful hard to keep track of 3 kids by myself!
I was also crazy enough to take them all to the zoo by myself, twice! At least I can keep better control. E probably thinks I am so mean, making him hold on to the stroller all the time. V is used to it! :)

The little critters were really active the morning we were there. It was kind of fun. They are usually hiding or sleeping!
V is overjoyed at the slightest mention of playing in the leaves. She is in that stage where she doesn't want pictures taken as much though.

R needed to get his mind off the election last night so we went to V's favorite place, the Trail Center. Unfortunately R did not get elected by Bennington, but he was elected as the best daddy and husband by us!

It is Election Time!

Hi everyone! This is Roland, I just wanted to say hi and give you all an update on the election front. With two weeks to go I am doing some door to door campaigning and have fun doing it. I am excited to have this opportunity and to get out and meet our neighbors. Things seem to be going good with a lot of people letting me know that I have their vote; YES!!! I will be finishing up my neighborhood here this weekend, then I will start venturing out into my opponent's neighborhood after that. Wish me luck!!!
Remember "Vote for Wimpey, because he is not!"

Three kids?!?!?
Just so you all know I am not neglecting my blog. I am babysitting for some friends until Thanksgiving. I went from 1 child to 3 in one day. It is exhausting! If I get a chance to post soon I will.

Locks of Love
Well, I finally did it. It feels weird but good. So what do you think? Does it look good? Why am I asking, no one is going to tell me it looks bad. hehehe! I finally had enough length and decided it was time for a change. It feels good to cut it for a good cause too. Now we will see if R likes it! yikes!

Speaking of hair. I found this cute idea for a bun for V. She has been into buns a LOT lately. That seems to be all she wants me to do. It is cute on her though!

Greek Festival
We had a fun weekend. We decided to go to the Greek Festival this weekend. Our friends C and B came with their baby B. It was pretty mellow compared to the one in Salt Lake, but it was fun and the food was YUMMY! I love Greek food. They did it right along the river. I was a nice location, but I wanted a tour of the cathedral. They had some blow up toys that V loved playing on. She got to blow bubbles too.

Her balance has gotten so good. Sorry about the sideways video, I always forget!

It was fun to watch the dancers. All the dances seem to be alike though. The music was so loud. It is so neat to see kids involved in their culture though!

| What American accent do you have? Your Result: North Central "North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot. | |

Almost a Month in Review
I guess I need to do some updating. It has been 3 weeks. We have done a lot of fun stuff too. Her are the highlights from the last 2 1/2 weeks. We love the summer and all the things to do.
R has been wanting to take V on the Ferris Wheel as Scheels forever. Well, we finally went. They had a lot of fun. It is perfectly placed for great pictures too!

V had a blast swimming with her cousins and Grandma & Grandpa's house. They came for a week long visit. She loves to be with her cousins. All of them!

I got a new pool for V on the summer clearance. I think I paid $8 for it. She loves it. It is a little bigger than our old one. She can actually float around in it now. She had so much fun!

We enjoyed the Washington County Fair in Arlington. Unfortunately we went during a time when there was not much going on. It was still fun to see the animals and the exhibits. We had a close encounter with a large pig. It was a fun.

We went to the Kanesville Tabernacle. The first time for all of us. It is pretty neat. Not the easiest thing for little ones. V loved the spinning wheel!

I got this cute shirt at Target for $1.50. Victoria loves it. She wanted pictures in it. She loved her hair too and thought we needed pictures of that too. She did looks terribly cute!

Is Colorado Here Yet?
It has been over a week since we got home from Colorado. Well, here is an update on us and the trip.
V was asking, it seemed, every hour, "Is Colorado here yet mommy? When is it coming?" She was so anxious for it to come. She didn't realize that we had to drive 9 hours to get there. Then as soon as we were in the mountain, not quite at the condo yet, she threw a huge tantrum and wanted to "walk on the mountain". our condo was in the mountains, Winter Park, but when we got there she didn't understand that she was walking on the mountain. She wanted to hike, even though she had no idea what hiking was at the time. When I asked her if she wanted to hike she thought I said bike. Of course she was all for that!
She loved every minute of the trip. Five cousins to play with and being outside all day almost every day was heaven for her. She did not want to come back to Nebraska. Well, actually, I didn't either. That first rest stop in Nebraska I climbed out of the car and turn to Roland and asked him if we could turn around. It was so hot, humid, flat, icky! We are back, and just in time for this lovely heat advisory! Ugggghhh!
These are picture of a couple hikes we took. One was to Adam Falls and the other was called Chainsaw Trail. They were both easy, but beautiful hikes. It was so sad to see how many trees the Asian Beetles of have killed. Some areas people had already clear out the dead trees and it was so sad. There are so few green Lodge Pole Pines left. Thankfully the forest service has been taking care of the problem in Rocky Mountain National Forest. It is so much greener up there.
We went canoeing on Grand Lake (I think that was the name of it). It was a lot of work after many years of no experience. It was hard making it through the wakes of the speed boats. We enjoyed it though. V kept trying to reach in the water. She is so little she looked like she was going to fall out. R and I decided it was a good marriage communication lesson. :)
We really enjoyed our limited time in Rocky Mountain National Forest. It started to rain, not just rain, but thunder and lightening. When you are that close to the sky, you don't mess around. We saw a few things and hiked to 12,0005 feet, but then decided to drive into Estes Park and do some shopping. It was a nice time, but we sure wanted to be in the mountains more. On the way back through the clouds were so low you couldn't see much of the mountains.
This is the trail that takes you to the point of 12,005 feet. It is a tough trail than it looks. V made it all the way up. She is a tough girl!
This is another hike we took. It is called Coyote Valley. It is right inside the park entrance. It is beautiful and the easiest hike ever!

This was V's favorite thing to do on the hikes with water. It was very hard to pull her away when it was time to move on.
We of course found some really fun parks to play at too. Not too many picture of those though. This is a cute one of V's cousins L and P. They are sitting in a little band stand at the park in Grand Lake.

Friday was a blast! We spent the day at the resort area in Winter Park. They have a 1/2 mile Alpine Slide. V couldn't get enough speed. R and I would crank the sled as fast as it would go, but it still wasn't fast enough for her. In the picture of them coming down the slide V is showing how much she loves it with her hands above her head. So cute!

While we were waiting on V's cousins on the climbing wall we looked at all the gorgeous flowers and took some pictures. Isn't she a doll?
R and V went through the human maze together. It looked like a lot of fun. I know I would have gone crazy. I don't like being somewhere I can get out of for too long. The kids had a blast, and the daddy's. :)

V had fun on her first mini golfing. She only made it 9 holes though. Then we went and played on the playground while everyone else finished the game.
