Well here I am checking our blog to see what updates have been posted just to see it has been a while. My wife does a great job in doing things for our family (something she is drastically under paid for) so I though I would give you all an update as to the last couple of months of our lives (sorry no pictures).
February 3, 2010:
Well R finally caught the unemployment bug, he was let go from his position, they told him he doesn't fit the model for the direction they are heading. When asking them and others questions about specifics they had no real answer for him. Thus we see "At Will" employment at work.
February 6, 2010:
R turned 31 and is 60 pounds lighter than last year.
Beginning of March:
Thank you winter for delivering us with so many pot holes to dodge around while driving. Finally a few potholes screw up the suppension on our Ford Focus that it is not very safe to drive, Toyota gets fixed (one vacum hose not plugged in right $40.00 to fix) and now we have one good car running. R has some good job contacts but nothing comes through. We are learning to live on a tighter budget. The blessings of our situation are lightened by a good clause in our mortgage that allows us to qualify for help with the payments. Basically we do not have to make a payment until R gets a job. We accrue interest at 1%, not bad!
End of March:
P is crawling!!! And now he is pulling himself up and wants to walk. One thing at a time little man. V has been wonderful in helping keep the house cleaned and cannot wait for spring to come so we can have fun as a family outside!!! R has had a couple of interviews with final interviews set for Mutual of Omaha on April 1st!!! K, V, and P head out to Utah to see Papa and family for a couple of weeks while R looks for a job and interviews.
April:
They say bad things come in threes right? Well let's see R lost his job and February (1), the Ford breaks down in March (2), and now on the 1st of April while on his way to his final interviews with Mutual of Omaha, R is in a head on car accident which totals out the Toyota. R is fine (sore and bruised), the accident was not his fault but we are down to a not so safe car! Mutual rescheduled the interview for the 5th which went pretty good.
Brighter days are ahead for us, we have remained really positive through these trials and feel like we can get through it all. Heavenly Father knows what he is doing, to prove it the night before I lost my job K and I sat down for a "State of the Wimpey Family" talk and what things we need to do there were about six to eight things on there, one of them titled 'R's Job'. After praying and discussing we came to the decsion that it was time for me to find a new job. As my friend Ryan put it, "Heavenly Father speeded things up for you." We thank you all for you prayers and thoughts as we go through this trail in our life. There is one quote from a poem used by Elder Dalling H. Oaks from when he was president at BYU that has helped me out a lot during this time and I close with it:
Good timber does not grow with ease.
The stronger winds, the tougher trees.
The further sky, the greater length.
The more the storm, the more the strength.
By sun and cold, by rain and snow,
In "trees or man" good timbers grow.
Where thickest stands the "Forest Growth,"
We find the "Patriarchs" of both,
Who hold a converse with the stars,
Whose broken branches show the stars
Of many winds and much of strife.
This is the common law of life.

Thanks, Roland, for the update. I was thinking about you guys the other day and wondering how you are. We love you and send you our best wishes and prayers from afar. Karen- had so much fun at Brick Oven- let's do it again when you're out next. Roland- good luck with the job hunt- you're doing great.
Hope things get easier very soon (I know the "everything goes wrong at once" experience all too well). Talk to you soon.
Tina, Matt & family
We are sorry to hear of the trouble, but happy you are staying faithful and strong. Your family is precious and we will pray you will have things come together for you.
If bad things come in three's then you should be done for a while. :) Good luck with the job, hope it works out. Thanks for the update.
Love the final quote. Good luck to you guys. You are doing what is right so you can have confidence the Lord is leading you down the right path.
Thanks for the update. I've been checking in periodically hoping to for news on the job hunting. I hope there will be a set of "three" good news posts coming soon. Hang in there!!!
